一口メモ・・・江戸町火消し
  • 江戸享保５年（１７２０）町人による火消し制度を新たに整備して、隅田川以西の町々をおよそ２０町ごとに４７の小組に分け、「い」「ろ」「は」の４７文字を組名とした。　「へ」「ら」「ひ」　の３文字は語感が悪いのでのぞき、代わりに百、千、万　を使い、本所、深川は別に１６の組にわけた。このとき、纏、半天、のぼりも各組ごとに定めて、見分けやすいように目印とした。
The fire brigade system of the Edo Period
  • Edo shogunate prepared a fire brigade system by the merchantnewly in 1720 of the Edo Period. 　The shogunate almost divideda town on the west side from the Sumida River（Tokyo) into the small party of 47 , and then named 47 of the hiragana (Japanese) like"I""Ro""Ha"as a party name. It was decided as each party with different Matoi(symbolof fireman), Hanten (firemans coat) to be easy to distinguish it.
